The Sydney Harper Foundation's first fundraising event was highlighted by Aunt Mary Pat DiSabatino's performance and raised nearly $7,000.
On January 24, Sydney Harper Foundation held its first fundraising event, “A Night Out on the Hill.” Aunt Mary Pat DiSabatino’s performance at the Belmont Hills Firehouse raised nearly $7000 that will go towards the foundation’s campaign to raise $25K to fund a medical research studied focused on discovering targeted treatment for Wilms Disease.
“A Night Out on the Hill” was attended by over 70 local community members. Sponsored by Main Line Spine, Urban Axes and Topiary Tree Care, it was an evening filled with music provided by local music duo Mia Johnson and Erin Ryan Barnes and tons of laughs provided by Delaware county’s favorite aunt, Aunt Mary Pat DiSabatino, as well as food, beer and wine supplied by McShea’s.
“I am so humbled by the outpouring of support tonight.” said Sydney’s mother, Brittany, after the event. “The majority of children who survive their initial cancer diagnosis face significant health-related issues that are most usually side effects from the treatments they received in response to the cancer. The money raised from this event will help give these kids the chance they deserve to live happy, healthy lives. I appreciate everyone who came out tonight to support this great cause. I honestly can’t remember when I laughed this hard.”
